Vaping Products Duty 2026: Why Stock Control Is Now Essential | Invastokk
Vape duty begins 1 October 2026

The vape tax is coming.Do you know exactly what stock you hold?

From 1 October 2026, Vaping Products Duty adds £2.20 per 10ml to every bottle of vaping liquid sold in the UK, with duty stamps to match. For vape retailers and wholesalers, accurate stock control stops being nice to have and becomes a necessity.

What the duty actually means

The duty starts 1 October 2026

Vaping Products Duty is a new UK excise duty charged at a flat £2.20 per 10ml of vaping liquid, regardless of nicotine strength. Nicotine-free liquid is included too.

Prices jump overnight

A 10ml bottle carries £2.20 of duty plus VAT on top. A 100ml shortfill carries £22. Margins, price lists and reorder maths all change on day one.

Duty stamps become the law

From 1 October 2026 products need a duty stamp, and unstamped stock can only be sold through for a limited period. Selling unstamped stock after that becomes illegal.

Your stock holding is suddenly worth auditing

HMRC has anti-forestalling rules around stockpiling, and every bottle on your shelf changes in value and legal status at the deadline. If you cannot see exactly what you hold, you are exposed.

When every millilitre is taxed, stock control is survival.

The duty turns every bottle on your shelf into a line on a tax bill. Invastokk gives single or multi-location vape businesses one clear system for stock, sales channels, purchasing and reporting — before, during and after the deadline.
